Acidulants such as acetic, adipic, citric, fumaric, lactic, malic, phosphoric, tartaric acids, and glucono-delta-lactone are commonly used as food additives in processed foods and beverages. They are used for leavening functions in baked goods, control gel formation, and maintaining the viscosity of confections and gelatin desserts.

There is a great deal of interest in characterizing small particles such as bacteria, extracellular vesicles, and viruses by flow cytometry. The common availability, as well as the multiparameter and high throughput capabilities of flow cytometry, make this technology attractive for measuring small particles. However, many of the flow cytometers currently being used are not able to detect biological particles smaller than 600nm, in fact very few can detect biological particles 300nm or less.

The automated mini-SPE cleanup coupled with GCMSMS analysis not only achieved high quality results for diverse type of analytes and foods, the approach also enabled reliable, high-throughput operations without much labor or instrument maintenance.

Each time we purchase food in convenience stores such as bread, milk, yogurt, and other ready-to-eat food, we know that these products have a limited shelf life. Food is perishable by nature and numerous changes take place in food during processing and storage.

Li-Ion Battery manufacturers require comprehensive information on the chemical composition of battery substrates such as electrolytes and additives to provide insight into the chemistry that occurs during the charge-discharge cycle. This knowledge will effectively direct research efforts towards improved energy storage technology.

Asia remains a vital market for laboratory tools. Although the pandemic negatively affected sales by shutting down labs, it also benefitted certain parts of the market where demand for some research or clinical solutions skyrocketed. The laboratory tool market in Asia, excluding Japan and China, is expected to grow the fastest between 2021 and 2026.

Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) remain one of the fast-growing classes of biopharmaceuticals and are significantly improving the quality of life for patients all around the world. For greater understanding of bioprocess product quality attributes, subunit analysis is quick, simple, and automatable. Here’s a full workflow for automated sample preparation and LCMS analysis of mAbs obtained directly from complex bioreactor samples.
Using the right analysis elemental analyzer along with a customized testing approach helped a leading petrochemical supplier to speed up and improve the accuracy of their element analysis processes in China.
