Vietnam’s Government Stays on Par With Import/Export Goods Testing Regulations Standards
Vietnam’s government department adopts DKSH’s integrated testing solutions to stay on par with international regulations and global standards.
The Department of Verification, Vietnam Custom is a unit under the General Department of Customs which manages and organizes the inspection of standards, quality, safety, quarantine and drainage for export and import goods according to the provisions of law. The department is also responsible for inspection, analysis, assessment and classification of export and import goods in the country.
Challenge
Amid the booming trade and economic cooperation between Vietnam and the rest of the world, Vietnam is taking steps to increase its business compliance with international regulations as well as improve on its trading procedures.
With export and import procedures becoming more stringent and the daily requirements for testing and analysis rapidly increasing on the department, this has led to them seeking out for a better solution to meet the growing workload.
As the Department for Goods Verification currently has seven laboratories including in Hanoi, Haiphong, Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Danang and HCMC, each lab needed a similar range of instruments to analyze and classify import and export goods for the market.
Approach
We proposed an integrated testing solution consisting of a range of leading instruments to meet the customer’s requirement of meeting the new export and import regulations and technical specifications.
Our sales and service team also invited the customer to participate in various seminars we co-hosted with our business partners to help familiarize them with the new analytical technologies and applications we were introducing to the customer. We also organized exclusive workshops at the customer’s sites to showcase how the solutions can address and resolve their operational and technical challenges.
Result
After implementing the solutions, the customer has shown the capability to better control and manage the export and import procedures into the market while complying with the international regulations. The customer has also recorded higher efficiency in their work processes as they can now analyze more samples daily and with improved accuracy.
