DKSH’s Turnkey Solutions Power Up Leading Mining and Power Company in Laos
Using both Cummins and Atlas Copco heavy equipment, DKSH provided an integrated turnkey solution to help a leading construction company in Laos produce consistent and higher quality electricity supply for its mining and hydropower facilities.
Laos is one of Asia’s most resource-rich nations due to its vast supply of minerals such as lead, copper and gold. On top of natural resources, the country has been growing its hydropower sector since 1993 which is driven by demand for electricity exports to Thailand and Vietnam.

Challenge
The mining and power company was keen to work with a local business partner who was familiar with the industries and who were able to provide a turnkey solution including the supply of equipment and service support.
The partner also needed to possess the technical ability as well as provide maintenance and equipment support within a 24-hour breakdown period.
Approach
As we have been working with the mining and power company for over 15 years in Laos, we quickly recognized that our products from Cummins and Atlas Copco offered the perfect heavy equipment solutions to support its two main projects: a gold mining facility and a hydropower plant operation.
The integrated solutions we provided included drilling equipment, air compressors, generators, lighting towers and spare parts provisions. We also provided several after-sales services such as installation by our certified service engineers, a customer hotline and preventive maintenance support.
