DKSH Offers Integrated Life Science and General Lab Solutions for Myanmar’s Leading Poultry Farm

Japfa Comfeed Myanmar is a leading poultry farm that produces and distributes poultry feed, poultry breeding, hatching and other related commercial services. Operating from its headquarters in Yangon, they have been leading the way in the local market since commencing operations in 2013.
Challenge
Myanmar, with a population of more than 60 million, is projected to record between 20 and 30 percent growth in its poultry sector over the next five years. In view of this rising demand, Japfa Comfeed Myanmar was planning to expand their central poultry laboratory to cater for the growing demand for veterinary vaccination services. This included equipment to determine polymerase chain reaction laboratory application.
Approach
DKSH conducted a thorough review of the company’s requirements for the laboratory and their specific functionalities. The team then proceeded to recommend an integrated solution including sourcing for the most suitable instruments, logistics management, equipment installation, calibration and training provision.
The equipment supplied included egg incubator, autoclave, refrigerated centrifuge, bio safety cabinet and media incubator. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) Lab featured an electrophoresis system, thermal Cycler, documentation PCR, PCR cooler, thermomixer compact, DNA mini kit, viral RNA mini kit, one-step RT-PCR kit and PCR primers.
