The opening of a new advanced food and personal care ingredients laboratory by DKSH in Malaysia will further boost the development of better-quality food ingredients and personal care products in Malaysia.

DKSH Business Unit Performance Materials (BU PM) is a leading specialty chemicals and food ingredients distributor and global provider of Market Expansion Services for business partners in Malaysia. As the local market demand rises for the need to develop new concepts and products for its business partners in Malaysia, BU PM was looking to set up a new laboratory to cater for the formulation of chemicals and food ingredients.

Challenge

The primary concern for BU PM was to ensure that the new laboratory was able to meet the specific needs of its clients and business partners requiring high-grade lab equipment.

At that time, there was a general lack of expertise in laboratory design and specialized instruments available catering to the specific needs of the food ingredients and personal care industries in Malaysia.

Approach

DKSH Business Unit Technology (BU TEC) first undertook a detailed review of the BU PM’s technical requirements and applications needed to be fitted into the laboratory.

The team then presented an integrated solution for a comprehensive yet practical food and personal care laboratory that featured instruments and technology from several leading brands such as Waldner storage cabinets, wall benches, LabPro balance and Wiggens PH meters.

Result

This collaboration exemplified DKSH’s extensive capabilities and knowledge across multiple business industries. The project also provided BU PM with a closer understanding of BU TEC’s portfolio of services and capabilities. With this, BU PM can further recommend to their portfolio of regional and global business partners and clients who may be looking to upgrade or further furnish their laboratories in the future.

We are committed to helping our partners grow their businesses and to find new ways to improve product performance. The innovation centers are central to our commitment as we require the latest laboratory technology to support the development of new concepts and products.

We are grateful for the opportunity to synergize with DKSH BU Technology and leverage their specialization in lab solutions and to foster future collaborative effort through this initiative.
